No Time Like the Present

I am new to writing, but I’ve been receiving the message I should be writing for a while. It’s just finally time to start.  I am used to speaking directly to people whether it’s over the phone, face to face, in a support group or as a speaker. With that said, please bare with me as I learn to navigate this new method of sharing the information I have learned through my experiences.

As I logged on to play around and figure out how to even make a blog post, I noticed I had one blog post already.  Needless to say, I was a bit confused. Turns out, it is automatically done. The photo at the top of the page was automatically there too. I think I will leave it.  It reminded me of this past weekend.  My husband and I drove down to Port O’Connor, TX for Warrior’s Weekend. It’s a weekend that they do down there for veterans and their families. They take the vets out fishing on Saturday.  They have an entire weekend of things to do.  They have sand sculptures, which were amazing and very moving to say the least. Even though my husband is a combat veteran, we didn’t go as veteran and spouse.  I took a class on massage and post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and seizures. I was also one of the massage therapists that provided massage for the event’s attendees.  My husband tagged along to assist with set up and directing the flow of traffic as people began to line up for their massage. I will write another post, just about the weekend, but I will say that it was such an amazing experience!

The reason I am starting this blog, is because I want to share information.  Information that I have been gathering in my head, notebooks, computer, phone, etc. over the years. I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of Texas, a certified hypnotist, wife of a combat veteran with post traumatic stress disorder , a volunteer at Camp Hope with the PTSD Foundation of America providing support for family members of someone with post traumatic stress and most important, I am who I am. What I have learned is that I empower others to empower themselves. There are so many out there searching for answers, feeling lost and looking for their way. So, by creating my online presence through this blog, I am hoping that by sharing my story, my husband’s story, and our story, it will help some of you to find the answers you seek.

I will write about post traumatic stress in general and also from the perspective of how it plays a roll in my life, massage and how it can help you, meditation, hypnosis, the VA system, spirituality and what ever seems to be important at that moment. I will share stories of hope and empowerment in which I hope you find your source of love, hope and empowerment, so that you can empower yourself to be the best you can be and reach your own dreams.
